It was in Industrial Hydraulics that the HVK Group initially made its reputation of being a respected industrial supplier. In the 1980s the group became distributor for the then Vickers range of industrial hydraulics products. This was an experiment for at that time, no hydraulics major operated through a distribution network in India. All orders were processed by the manufacturers themselves resulting in enormous delays in processing and supply.
Vickers, who had their plants in Bombay and Pune then, appointed HVK as their distributors for the southern states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka and Kerala. HVK stocked the Vickers products in Madras and Bangalore and slowly built up a strong client base which remained loyal to the company. The experiment with HVK proved so successful that not only did Vickers appoint several distributors across India but several other companies in hydraulics also switched to the distribution model of sales.
In 1999, Vickers was acquired by Eaton, the American Fortune 100 company and has since then been a part of that group, changing its name to Eaton Fluid Power India. HVK has established a strong relationship with the new management at Eaton (Vickers). In 2008 HVK was given three performance awards by Eaton - Highest Sales among Distributors, Innovative Use of Eaton Products and Continuous Emphasis on Training Customers.
HVK has taken the initiative in launching new Eaton products in the replacement markets in India and also introduced the range for OE applications. It has been a continuous win-win relationship between Eaton and HVK for over several years.
